MEMBERSHIP steps

Identify which Membership level you calcify as.

  1. Fill out the Membership Application (below.)

  2. Pay for Membership (below.) Students and Sponsorship Memberships will have a $0 cost.

  3. Those applying for an Industry Membership, and plan to have 2 representatives, please

    have each fill out the Membership Application.

  4. Those applying to be a NEW Professional or Allied IDI Member, will need to email their college

    transcript to info@interiordesignersofidaho.com. Those applying to be a NEW Member, will be

    contacted regarding approval, at which point the NEW Member will pay their Membership Dues.

    A Welcome Bag will be given at the next Monthly Membership Meeting.

  5. Those contacted about a Sponsorship earned Membership, please fill out the Membership Application.

  PROFESSIONAL MEMBER   Requirements for Professional Membership:  -NCIDQ Certified Designer OR -AIA Certification  Professional member shall have voting privileges and may be elected as officers and/or directors.  Applicants must provide proof of qualifications prior to acceptance for professional membership, including passage of the NCIDQ or equivalent exam.  Application for Professional membership status must be accepted by the membership committee and the Board of Directors.  Professional members may use the designation Professional IDI after their name.

PROFESSIONAL MEMBER

Requirements for Professional Membership:

-NCIDQ Certified Designer
OR
-AIA Certification

Professional member shall have voting privileges and may be elected as officers and/or directors.

Applicants must provide proof of qualifications prior to acceptance for professional membership, including passage of the NCIDQ or equivalent exam.

Application for Professional membership status must be accepted by the membership committee and the Board of Directors.

Professional members may use the designation Professional IDI after their name.

  ALLIED MEMBER   Requirements for Allied Membership:  -Received a degree in Interior Design OR -Actively working as an Interior Designer OR -Working towards NCIDQ certification  Any request by a member for a change from Allied status to Professional status must be accompanied by a letter showing certification by the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (from NCIDQ headquarters). Such a request may be made in June of each year, and shall be accompanied by payment of the member’s dues at the Professional status rate. In the event the request for reclassification is denied, dues will be refunded to the member.  Allied members shall have voting privileges and may be elected as officers and/or directors.  Allied members may use the designation Allied IDI after their name.

ALLIED MEMBER

Applicants must provide proof of enrollment in a Design related program, in the form of an unofficial college transcript.

  HONORARY MEMBER   Each school of interior design is entitled to one Honorary IDI membership for an instructor in its department of interior design, who shall have no voting privileges and may not be elected as an officer or director.

APPLICATION FOR MEMBERSHIP 

A membership application may be obtained from the links above. The application is to be submitted to the Membership Coordinator. Only completed applications will be accepted for review. Training/education received through any form of correspondence course, will not be considered in determining the applicant’s qualifications. Any person of good character and integrity who agrees to abide by the Bylaws and Code of Ethics in Interior Designers of Idaho and who qualifies for one of the above described categories may be elected to membership in the organization.
